Vaginal Morcellation: Tips to get to the REAL Minimally Invasive Hysterectomy

Learning Objectives:

  1. Be introduced to the instrumentation that can improve exposure to the uterine pedicles difficult to see in large vaginal hysterectomies.
  2. Adapt abdominal and laparoscopic techniques you already know to decrease uterine volume and allow completion of even the largest hysterectomies.
  3. Instruct your assistants to stand, retract, light and use suction to optimize visualization and performance during vaginal hysterectomy.
  4. OPP. Utilizing effective positioning, bed angle, seated position and assistants can be more ergonomic and help prolong the longevity of a vaginal surgeon’s career.
