President's Message
W. Ashley Hood, DO, FACOOG (Dist), FACOG
ACOOG President 2025–2026
Dear ACOOG colleagues, friends, & family:
What an amazing Annual Conference that we had in Palm Springs! It was held April 6-11th, at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort. A special thank you to our program chairs, Diana Okuniewski, DO and Kern Krieg, DO, and all of our wonderful moderators. The "Roaring 20's" Presidential Theme party on Wednesday night was a hit!!
In my Presidential address, I presented four pillars — the 4 C's — that I would like to focus on this year:
COMMUNITY
A gathering of people with common goals. Coretta Scott King said: "The greatness of a Community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." Success is built by knowing how we got here, what resources we have, and working together to accomplish the growth we all want to see.
CME (OSTEOPATHIC)
Offering Osteopathic CME is what we do best! Our current AOA President, Teresa Hubka, DO, has called the entire osteopathic profession to emphasize osteopathic distinctive CME. We will continue OMM workshops and call for speakers to incorporate osteopathic philosophies into their presentations.
COLLABORATION
We are not in this alone! Collaboration with the AOA is vital. The road of education that starts at an osteopathic medical school should end in osteopathic board certification! We will continue to investigate joint meetings and collaborations with ACOG and other organizations.
CONNECTION
The ACOOG will continue to connect to our membership, advocacy efforts, students, and residents/fellows. Our new podcast Women's Health Minutes, hosted by Dr. Rupesh Patel, has already launched with wonderful episodes. I also created a Task Force on Program Director Outreach to reach all 295 ACGME OB/GYN programs nationally.
If we are mindful of all these initiatives — if we see our 6 foot putt for birdie or eagle right in front of us — we cannot leave it short! #ACOOGDontLeaveitshort

Message from the Executive Vice President
Michael J. Geria, DO, MS, FACOOG(Dist)
Chief Executive Officer
Dear ACOOG membership,
Building Our Future Together: Insights from the 2025 Member Survey
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we want to extend our sincerest thanks to everyone who participated in the 2025 Member Survey. Your feedback is the most valuable tool we have for shaping a College that is responsive and essential to your professional life.
The results painted a clear picture of a strong and deeply committed community. We were thrilled to see an outstanding Net Promoter Score (NPS) of +45. Here are three key takeaways and our commitments moving forward:
Education Tailored to Your Practice
You value practical, evidence-based content that fits your busy schedule. Our commitment: expanding our free online CME library with new content on menopause management, surgical innovations, and more — and reimagining in-person conferences to focus on hands-on, experiential learning.
Enhancing Your Member Value
Beyond CME, you asked for support navigating the business of medicine. We are designing a new Practice Management Resource Center and exploring a partnership for access to clinical publications like the Green Journal — our single highest strategic priority.
Investing in Our Next Generation
We are developing a formal mentorship program connecting students, residents, and new physicians with experienced Fellows and members. We are also tasking existing committees to focus on early career physicians to ensure their voices are heard.
Your insights have given us an energizing roadmap for the years ahead. Thank you for your engagement, trust, and commitment to our incredible specialty.
