The American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG) honors a physician whose mentorship shapes the next generation of osteopathic obstetricians and gynecologists.
How the honoree is selected
The award draws from the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Mentor Hall of Fame nominees and runs through ACOOG review and confirmation.
A mentee nominates
A resident, medical student, or colleague nominates a mentor who shaped their training.
The AOA forwards nominees
The AOA sends its OBGYN Mentor Hall of Fame nominees to ACOOG for endorsement.
The committee reviews
The ACOOG Membership and Promotions Committee reviews the nominations and selects a College-endorsed nominee.
The Board confirms
The Board of Trustees confirms the selection.
ACOOG recognizes the honoree
ACOOG presents the Mentor of the Year at the annual conference.
