Accessibility Statement

We want every physician, resident, student, and visitor to use acoog.org with ease. This page explains where the site stands today, what we are fixing, and how to reach us.

Our commitment

The American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG) is committed to an accessible website for people with disabilities. This includes people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, screen magnification, and captions.

Our standard and current status

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), as our standard.

Always Improving

ACOOG monitors and updates its website to be accessible when issues are identified. If you encounter accessibility issues or concerns, please reach out and staff will assist you in another way.

Steps we take

  • Test pages with automated tools and manual keyboard checks, with a regular full review.
  • Build new pages from a template with tested color contrast, headings, and link text.
  • Train staff who edit the website on alt text, headings, link text, and color.
  • Caption new educational videos and publish a transcript with each new podcast episode.
  • Request accessibility documentation from the vendors who host our learning, membership, and store platforms.

Third-party platforms

Other companies build and host parts of the ACOOG experience. We hold these vendors to the same standard and ask each for its accessibility documentation.

  • Continuing medical education (CME) courses and credit claims at cme.acoog.org
  • Member Compass, membership renewal, event registration, and checkout
  • The ACOOG merchandise store
  • Career Center job listings
  • Advertising and embedded video and audio players
