This national needs assessment study explores the knowledge, attitude, beliefs, and practices gaps related to vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause among primary care and OB/GYN clinicians. Vasomotor symptoms affect healthcare costs, workplace productivity, and patient psychosocial health, yet a disconnect exists between providers and patients, with provider reticence and knowledge gaps contributing to it.

The American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG) and the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (AOBOG) joined forces to tackle challenges in board certification and improve physician competence.
